Dragons

Ash sighed and sat down, waiting for it to reach midnight, or true-dark as the dragons called it. He listened for a while to Levantine's thoughts, becoming slightly sad at the deepness of the thoughts. After a while, he shuts it out, before he becomes depressed. He walked up to Fon and looked at his watch. just a few more minutes and he could finally fly free. He smiled and looked up at the moon.

Fon sat on a rock and leaned against a tree looking up at the moon. The moon, Luna. His thougths drifted to the certain girl and a smile decorated his face. What an interesting lady, challenging, definitely not submissive, troubled at times, but innocent and a dreamer. He chuckled to himself, thinking about the sake drinking contest that got postponed. He shifted his eyes as Ash walked over to look at his watch.

10:45, an hour had passed, a few more hours to wait and soon the ceremony and dance would begin.

(why take so long? can't it just be midnight soon?)

Levantine thought for another long moment then shook her head and a bit angerily began taking off her gloves and next peeling off her jackey then laying bck on the ground in her tank top as soon as she did everything she had touched died.

Levantine shut her eye's and simply accepted it she was poision there was no need in denying that eventually everything that came in contact with her would die they or it always did

Ash glanced over at Fon's watch and grinned. Finally it was midnight. He could finally be free. "Yeah! time to fly!" He hopped up and ran over near the lake, letting Levantine know it was time. he looked around and found a small rock grotto with practically no plants near it. Perfect, he didn't want to start a forest fire when he transformed. He ran to it and stood in the center, then closed his eyes.

An orange glow emanated from him and when he opened his eyes they were burning like fire. Suddenly, his whole body was engulfed in roaring flames which spread out in tendrils and grew, forming a rough shape, the shape grew wings and a head and got bigger, until it was the shape and size of a dragon.

The flames died until only the wings remained burning. The rest of the dragon was only visible from the glow of the wings reflecting off the obsidian scales and the slight fiery glow beneath them. He growled slightly and took off into the air, his wings leaving trails of light behind as he ascended towards the moon.

Fon turned as Ash came over to look at the time again. Midnight. Fon saw a bright red flare as Ash started his transformation. Fon walked towards an open area and started doing the same. Unlike monsters like werewolves or whatever the stories say, dragon transformations don't hurt, in fact, they are very refreshing as they are in their true forms.

Fon closed his emerald eyes and suddenly the wind started picking up around him wrapping around him until he was engulfed in a mini tornado. Through the vortex of gushing wind, two beautiful feather wings emerge from his back and enclose him in their majesty. Behind the wings coverage, his body changed. A large reptilian body emerged, covered by flowing silky emerald green fur. Horns grew from his now elongated head.

The wind subdued and the wings pulled away, revealing an elegant green dragon with a long neck, long hair covering his body. His front claws were the only part that were covered with grey scales and not fur. Bone colored spiral horns adorned his head. Two flowing whiskers hung from his jaw. A long long tail trailed after his body. With a look at the sky, he pushed himself off the ground and joined the fire dragon in flight. "It's good to be back in our original forms", he mind spoke to the fire dragon, as in their dragon forms, they could only mind speak.

Levantine watched the other two before walking of quietly to place where she wasn't around anything just the center of an open meadow she shut her eye's relaxed then slowly began changing a dark black and purple gas surrounding her anything inhaling the gas almost immeadiatly died.

Soon The figure was scales so black she bleneded in with the night sky deep mezmorzing purple she had a small purplish tent to her scales but it only made her even darker against the night skin she had no wings but she could still slither through the sky.

Levantine slowly lifted her head she almost looked like a snake but not quite she watched them moment before joining them in the sky all that was seen was her deep purple eye's.

Ash flew higher and higher, his wings leaving trails of fire behind him. "Yeah, it does. I feel so free in this form." he replied to Fon. The moon grew bigger in their sight as they got closer and Ash smiled. "How ya doin Lev?" he mind spoke to the poison dragon. His scales glistened majestically in the moonlight, casting a few sparkles on Fon and Levantine off their reflective surface.

Fon flew after the fire dragon, hot on his tail, no pun intended. Fon then flew higher, over Ash and Lev, his long long tail swimming after him in the breeze. Feathers few off his wings and fluttered around before they disappeared into the wind. Fon made sure that any feathers that came off his wings were gone, because if people found feathers larger than any bird feather they ever seen, the dragons would find a large problem on their claws. Fon flew and then turned his body, flapping his wings as he faced the other two dragons.

Then movement in the corner of his eye caught his attention and he turned his head to his right. At once he saw other forms rising up to join the three guardians. Fon greeted them with a dip of his head, and they did the same to the three guardians. Fon turned and flew higher, the other dragons joining him in the ceremonial Moon Dance. He led them higher and higher, up to an altitude that could kill a mortal by depriving them of oxygen. The dragons however didn't live by oxygen so they were fine at such a height. Once he was sure no plane could spot them, he led the dragons through spirals and tumbles and then afterward he allowed Ash to take his turn to lead a dance.

Levantine was nodding to a silent beat that went along with the sacred dance. She slithering happily through the sky while folllowing the dance with out any trouble. She smiled once which shocked a few of the Dragons but she didn't Care.

Ash followed Fon through the dance, twisting and weaving through the sky, then took his turn to lead. As the dance began, he dove and twisted, creating a chaotic dance, one like his own nature. His fiery wings burned lines of light into the sight of the other dragons as he weaved across the sky. He smiled as best he could in his dragon form and spun and twisted, the other dragons doing their best to keep up with his chaotic dance of fire. His scales glistened with the moonlight and the orange glow of his fire, and the glow inside him seemed almost to hold a faint glow of happiness.

Levantine was following Ash in his dance nodding her head and keeping up with his Caos thumbling twisting turning and rolling. Finally it was her turn she went ahead of Ash then began spiral and twisting turning and tumbling her dance seemed like an angry person's dance but now the less it was a dance.

Her scales glistened and he eye's were shining she looked so gracefully and for once she was thankful that the Humans couldn't see her. She turned to look at the blue dragon who then took lead and she fell back following the beautiful dragon.

Fon followed the dragons in their leads to dance, following behind them effortlessly and gracefully. As wind he was one of the more graceful dragons in the guardians, the others being light and water. He flew, doing barrels in the air and tumbles, dips and drops. He followed Ash and then Lev and then broke away as the other dragons danced. He few up higher than the rest and stared at the moon. His large wings flapped noiselessly against the night sky as he gazed at the moon.

Then he closed his eyes and contacted Luciano on Thanatos. The other guardians were doing the same ceremony on Thanatos, except much much larger with a lot more dragons. Fon chatted with Luciano for a while relying their progress and status so far. Luciano was surprised to say that three potential mates had been found. He wished them luck, and closed the connection. Fon mind spoke to Ash and Lev. "The other guardians wish us all luck with the potential mates.', he told them.

Ash finished his dance and followed Levantine through hers, enjoying the different type of dance, watching the other dragons as they followed. He began the other dance and twisted through the sky, ignoring Fon as he flew past to go contact Luciano.

"The other guardians wish us all luck with the potential mates.'

Ash bobbed his head with the beat of the dance, trailing off in his thoughts to Kira. He snapped back into reality and replied to Fon. 'Yeah... We'll all need it... Especially me and Lev. We're the two most destructive... he stopped that train of thought and returned to the dance, following it with a little less enjoyment.

Levantine was dancing gracefully and happily when he recieved Fon's thought she had managed to Shake it out of her mind untill then she tensed up then lost her place she sighed and after a moment she returned to the dance nodding to Fon.

Yeah... We'll all need it... Especially me and Lev. We're the two most destructive...

And then Ash thought..Levantine growled then snapped at Ash barely missing him purposely she growled at him before looking ahead and relaxing then returning to the graceful dance. 'we already know that Ash no need to repeat it.'

Ash ducked out of the way and looked at her apologetically. "Sorry, meant to think that to myself" he continued to follow the dance with slightly less vigor, his thoughts trailing off to Kira, hoping she was the one... and hoping she would pass the test...

Fon chuckled at the antics of Lev and Ash, bickering back and forth. He flew with the other dragons for a while longer and once he decided it was close to time to stop, he called attention to himself and thanked the other dragons for coming. Then he dismissed them, urging them to go back to their lives now until the next full moon where they will meet again.

After the other dragons left, Fon descended to the ground with a light flutter of his wings and then the winds encircled him again as he morphed back into his human form. He stood up from his kneeling position on the ground after the change, stretching, getting adjusted to the change in form. Then with a beckon to Lev and Ash, he jumped up into his open balcony room, biding the other two good night. "Ash, Lev. Sleep well. Tomorrow, hopefully we'll meet our candidates again. After a while, I'll tell you two when would be a good time to perform the trial, it's best if all three of us did so at the same time. But enough tonight, we'll talk tomorrow.", he mind spoke to them.

He changed his clothing into more traditional Asian robes to sleep in. Climbing into his vast and comfy bed, his thoughts once again drifted to Luna. How he would love to have her at his side right now, next to him in bed, sleeping and only sleeping. He would just be satisfied with the thought of holding her while they slept. Maybe that would be reality in the near future. His eyes closed as he drifted to slumber.

Ash listened to Fon as he wished everyone good luck and told them to go back to their lives. As the wind dragon descended, he made his own dramatic exit. Sighting the stone grotto below him, he swooped into a dive bomb. His body became flame until eventually he was nothing more than a ball of flame plummeting toward the clearing. He hit and the flames exploded outward, up the sides of the small indent in the earth. When the smoke and flame cleared, he was standing there, unharmed, and fully human. The rocks around him were scorched and still giving off heat as he stepped out and started towards the mansion.

Ash listened to what Fon said and voiced his approval. He dashed back to the mansion at full speed, making it back in a matter of seconds. He slipped into the house and up to his room, climbing in the bed and staring up at the ceiling, thinking to himself. Eventually, he fell asleep, his dreams his only companion for now.

Levantine listened but didn't speak or think anything back she simply flew she was enjoying it and she wanted it as much as she could afterall she could stay out all night unnoticed against the sky. Levantine only stayed out for another housr before slithering down then slithering on the ground a moment before being consumed once again by the ball of gas then coming out fine and sleeping walking back to the mansion.

Once she got to her room she a tad noislly moved her bed to the otherside. She then smiled and slipped into a long silk pajama top and flannel silk bottoms. She then slipped into her fluffy bed and shut her eye's happily falling asleep.

The sun shone through his large balcony door, lighting up his sleepy face. Fon lifted his arm to shield his eyes from the light. After his eyes adjusted he sat up in bed, stretching his limbs and then got out, changing into outside clothing, consisting of fading black jeans a nice emerald green sleeveless inside his faded grey denim jacket. He stepped out of his room and descended the stairs to the kitchen where Gregory and Crystal were already there and eating breakfast.

He greeted them good morning and took a seat, taking a plate and helping himself with scrambled eggs, sausages, toast, and some salad. He said his thanks to his hosts and began eating all in while mind speaking to the other two dragons. "Rise and shine you two.", he called simply as he ate.

Levantine slowly began to wake up opening her eye's and blinking away sleep she sat up and groaned before getting up and combing out her hair then walking down the stairs deciding that she'd change here in a moment. "morning." she dipped her head before rabbing a bowl of cereal and she was about to eat when she heard the familar engine of brett's bike startled she turned and glanced out the window,

Brett was pacing back and forth worriedly thinking to himself muttering a few words and growing nervous more and more by the second what if she didn't accept what if she didn't even like him? Then he jumped the door had opened and there stood Levantine in her pajam's staring at him with those purple eye's.

Levantine watched brett for a long while before speaking. "is there somethingwrong? your pacing.." brett chuckled and then smiled at her. "just nervous I was gonna see if you wanted to grab some brekafast with me before work" Levantine nodded. "that sounds good." she had begun to walk to his bike when he stopped her and grinned. "you sure you wanna go in your cute little pjama's?"

Levantine looked down at herself and then nodded. "I think I'll go change please come in and wait." with that she turned and quickly hopped up the stairs to her room then changed into a black skinny jeans a lacey purple top and her black leather Jacket and some purple boots before walking back down the stairs.

Ash stumbled out of bed, the smell of eggs, sausages, and toast hitting his nose. He shook the sleep out of his head and began dressing. He pulled on a pair of slim black jeans with flame patterns on the thighs and pockets and grabbed an orange shirt with shiney red patterns twisting all over it. He slipped on a jacket, black with a burning cross on the back, leaving it unzipped, and made his way down to the kitchen lethargicly. He grabbed some eggs and sausage and ignored the toast and salad for the moment, eating hungrily.

Once he was done, he walked out to the garage and hopped on the motorcylce, speeding off to Kira's house. He parked out front, seeing her car still there and knocked on the door. Kira, just woken up, walked to the door and opened it. "Oh... ummm... wasn't expecting you so early. Sorry I only have breakfast ready for myself" Ash smiled. "don't worry I already ate. But as I said, I'd be by first thing in the morning" She invited him in, not so subtly admiring his choice of clothing, and offered him a seat at the table. He thanked her and sat down, watching her rush about to get ready.

Fon chuckled as he watched Lev leave the house with Brett and then Ash eat quickly and leave. No doubt in his mind where the fire dragon went. Fon smiled and ate his breakfast at a moderate pace. He finished, thanked his hosts again, which they were grateful for, and he went into the family room and pulled out his cell phone, typing in a number.

Luna was up, always up early and was out running miles to wake her up and for exercise. She came back to her condo not long ago and was about to take a quick shower before work when he cell rang. She had a hunch of who would be calling and when she saw the caller ID, she was right. Fon was calling and she picked up.

"Good morning Luna. How was your night?", Fon's voice said over the phone.

Luna was quiet for a moment, taking in the sound of his voice before responding. "Morning Fon. I slept well thank you. How was your night??", she asked him.

He chuckled over the phone before replying. "My night was fantastic thank you, it was a beautiful full moon and I spent some time watching and drawing it.", he told her.

Luna walked around her condo, getting things ready for a shower as she talked. "That's nice, I saw the full moon as well. Actually I just got back from a run, gonna shower. I'll call you back later.", she said as she said bye and hung up. Fon smiled as he closed his phone, sitting down on the couch and for the while he waited, contacted Luciano.

Kira walked back out into the kitchen with a few hair pins in her mouth, messing with her hair and working on pinning it up nicely. Ash watched her intently, not so much interested in the act as in Kira herself. Kira froze for a second as her eyes fell on Ash. "What?" she said as best she could through the clenched teeth that were holding the pins. Ash burst out laughing at the resulting slaughter of the word and Kira rolled her eyes at him and continued on. He smiled as she did so, admiring her clothing choice.

She had on a nice pair of tight fit faded and factory distressed blue jeans and a red shirt with a picture of an explosion on the front of it. Below it was the logo of the demolition company she worked for. She sat down at the table next to him and ate her breakfast ravenously with Ash watching. He suddenly took her hand and kissed it. She blushed and paused in mid-bite, then continued on, smiling. Once she was finished, she took her plate and put it in the dishwasher. "Well, maybe we should be going, I'd like to see where you work" Ash said to her. "Right. Go ahead and go to the car. I'll be out in a sec" He did so and waited until she came out, locking the door behind her. She slipped into the driver's seat and he into the passenger's seat and they sped off into town.
