Parallel World

Melody listened carefully to what each had to say then shook her head as if to say no and gentle pulled away taking a few steps back "no..No no no!" for the first time ever Melody had disagreed with someone and made ehr voice louder. "I..I can't be..not human.. no i just want to go to school get a job marry and live a peacful serene life i am ntohign more then a human and I refuse to be anythign more!" Melody stubbornign sat down hugging her knees to her chest adn rocked abck and fourth she ahd never risen her voice like that and she was nervous she could tell they could all see that she could easily be taken against her will and would easily cave in and believe to what they had to say.

Rune listened carefully to the young girl then gently knelt down and placed her hand on the girls hand "listen Melody i know you are scared all your life you have only ever been human and being something more frightens you..but you are and it seems hard to deal with and understand but your friends are here with you in the same situation and here to help you as well just as I am and everyone else"

Melody shook her head again and buried her face in her knee's rocking again and again then squeezing her knee's tighter and mumbling to herself before enrvously speaking "I..I have to get home or else papa well be mad.." she looked down still rocking she ahd intended to then get up and walk away but something kept her glued to her spot rocking back and fourth holding onto her knees then beginning to weep "fine i'll go..I'll go..But i don't want to..I really don't want to" melody slowly reached out and held onto Kira's ankle as she weeped

Slowly, the realization of what had been said sank into Snow's brain. "So... we're not... human?" The thought immediately arose that he had known all along. Everyone around him hadn't been different than him... he had been different than everyone else. He looked down at his hands, a look of curiosity on his face. For some reason, the idea of being not human seemed to appeal to him. His eyes dilated and shifted colors just slightly as he considered the amount of power he could probably wield, judging from what he had just done...

Vlad sensed the sudden change in Snow and inhaled sharply, snapping his head around to look at the boy. "Snow! Watch yourself. Don't let those feelings take you over" He seemed even more serious than before, almost worried. This boy was volatile, after all, he had two polar opposites making up most of him.

At his comment, Snow seemed to return to himself, his eyes returning to their normal size and color. He looked over at Melody who had broken into tears and was sitting, hugging her knees. The image broke his heart, he knew how badly Melody reacted to such sudden and drastic changes like this. He bent down and hugged her comfortingly. "Don't worry Melody, it'll be all right. We're here for you. I promise everything will be fine"

Kayne watched as the smaller girl, Melody, broke down crying, hugging Kira's leg. His amethyst eyes watched her. "For you, the thought that you weren't human should have been obvious. If the things on your back aren't indications already.", he said to her a bit coldly.

At that Kira rounded on him with a snarl. Her eyes were back to a feral golden color as she growled at him. "Watch your mouth. I don't care what you are or who you think you are, you have no right to say that to her in such a manner.", she said but at his words she did look down at Melody's back and sure enough, it dawned on Kira that her jacket was sticking up oddly, so subtle people wouldn't usually notice. And she always wore jackets.

"Mel. What's on your back?", Kira asked her friend slowly as she dropped to her knees to wrap an arm around the smaller girl's shoulders.

Kayne's eyes grew a bit wide when Kira had snapped at him. She hadn't learned to control her powers yet and when she had turned on him, he felt an overwhelming blast of power coming from her. He narrowed his eyes, she could very well prove to be on the same level base as him.

The others had stared when their leader had gotten yelled at by the taller girl. No one usually had the guts to stand up to Kayne like that. Not only was his power level immense but he was a master at his powers. Usually Diabolians of lower power submit to those of high power, but for Kira to be able to stand up to him, that meant her power level could rival his, a very very bad thing if she didn't know how to control it.

Raghnall turned to Snow. "None of us here are human, if you can tell. Perhaps Melody is the most human of us all, but otherwise, the others have not an ounce of human genes in them. That's why we are here, to help you. If your power is going to go unregulated, you could attract more danger to yourself and possibly hurt more people than you intend. With your power level, you could easily obliterate this town with a twirl of a finger.", he told the white haired boy.

Kayne turned to Snow now. "Vlad is right. Don't let your powers get in over your head. If you pose a danger to us, we'll find ways to...contain you.", he told them, giving them each an eyeful. Kira returned his gaze with her own. "We'll watch ourselves, but so should you.", she told him, her comment making Godric wince, Morty's mouth drop, Raghnall flinch, and Kayne left staring at her in amazment.

Kayne asked again. "I'm not going to bother with asking how fast can you run. Vlad, take Snow. Rune, Godric, take Melody. Kira, you're running with me. Let's go.", Kayne said as he waited for everyone to get ready to go. Kira patted Melody slowly on her back, rubbing in circles. "You'll be fine Mel. We'll talk about everything once we're safe.", she said as she stood up to face Godric and Rune. "I'm leaving her in your hands.", she told them as she stalked over towards Kayne, who was giving her a once over. The hybrid never met another Diabolian who stood up to him. She had more power than he realized, and a better grasp over it than the other two did apparently. Usually those without training would erupt with their power, going mad and blind with destruction. So far these three were okay. Snow was battling two sides to himself, Mel was getting a grip on herself, but Kira seemed most comfortable with the news so far. It seemed as though she didn't find this at all too surprising.

Melody froze when kira asked what was on ehr back she hesitated then before ripping off her jacket then revealing ehr bright wings she relaxes as the fluttered then fanned out Rune noted that they were larger then most of the opther faires and certainally brighter Melody climbed onto Godrics back and held on tightly waiting paitently for him to take off she was nervous about what her friend would say. She could feel their eyes already boring into her.

they didn't leave yet Jess they're just talking and getting ready to go for now, after Aaron posts, then they set off

Snow looked away, surprised that they had all realized his train of thought. He stood and crossed one arm over his chest, resting his other elbow on that hand and fiddling with the three gold droplets hanging from his left ear, nervous about his own power. He knew now that it was far beyond what he had just done and, though he knew already how to control a small portion of it, he worried what would happen to his friends if he couldn't control the rest. A shudder ran down his spine and he broke off this dismal mentality and focused on the situation.

As he glanced back at Melody, he saw the wings now protruding from her back. Though he realized now why she always wore jackets, he was hardly surprised. He had always known it would be something odd like that. Of the three, he was the one who understood best that they were different. Though they had all taken their abilities for granted, Snow never felt human, in fact he had always felt like he had no relation in any way to the people around him. All of them were completely unlike the trio, and that's why he had become friends with them to begin with, to find a place to fit in.

Vlad approached him to offer him a ride, but Snow raised a hand to show he didn't need assistance. If there was one thing he was good at, it was running. There was never a distance or speed he couldn't achieve, he'd just never tried for something as fast as would be required now. "If I start to fall behind, you can help, but I want to at least try" He said, glancing over at Vlad with his piercing eyes. Vlad nodded in reply and the two stepped forward, ready to run.

Kira turned to Melody, staring at her wings, not in a displeased way, but more of amazement and awe. Kira then smiled at Melody. "Mel, they're beautiful, and they're nothing to be ashamed of.", she told her.

Godric carried Melody piggyback style, but she was so light to him that he barely felt her. "She's right you know. Now that there's nothing to hide, everyone can see your beauty. There's no reason to hide your abilities now. You're with people you can trust.", the werewolf told her with a kind smile.

Kayne stayed silent through the exchange. Morty was hopping on his feet ready to go, Raghnall was conjuring a spell to help him run with the others, but if he needed assistance, Morty was there to help him.

Kayne saw that everyone was ready, and he got a nod from Kira. "Right. Let's move out. Snow make sure to keep up with Vlad, don't get lost. Kira, let's race.", the hybrid told the tall girl.

Kira glanced at Kayne and gave him a challenging look. "You're on. You'll never beat me in running.", she said as she stretched a few times and got ready. Kayne smirked, an expression and then in a flash he was gone.

Kira sped off after him and was soon a red blur running after Kayne who was a black blur. Godric sighed and with a look at Mel and Rune, set off at a slower pace than the two running ahead of him. Morty and Raghnall followed suit but maintained a speed with Godric, they'd let Kira and Kayne duke it out over who was better. Rodney floated after them, but actually had anchored himself onto Morty's leg and was literally being dragged behind the ghoul.

Kayne glanced behind him and was startled to see Kira right on his heels. Damn he didn't expect her to be this good. Kira gave him a smirk and sped up faster. She didn't know what she was, but whatever she was, it definitely fit her. Speed, agility and power. She felt alive, like them telling her who she was set her free. All her life she felt different than the other people, that's why she fit in with Snow and Mel and Rodney. But now she was with her own people, and she could be herself now.

Speeding up she almost got ahead of Kayne but realized she didn't know where they were going, so she reluctantly slowed down to let Kayne lead, she'd beat him next time.

Melody's cheeks turned a nright red when Kira and Godric comments on her wings she smiling just barely fluttered them a little then fastened herself tighter onto Godric and soon he took off she shut her eyes and held on tight watching the blur of the world as it passed by her she was amazed by it all.

Rune Took off as soon as Godric did but instead moved behind him in order to keep an eye on the young girl she was a tiny little thing with beautiful ivory skin and her wings were hard to look away from even though she was still young the wings still were big and beautiful. Rune smiled as she ran behind her husband watching the young girl to make sure she didn't fall or possibly even get sick.

Melody squinted her eyes to look ahead and watched Kayne and Kira as they ran ahead of her she was amazed by them they were very fast she noted that kira slowed down then she figured it was because she had no idea were she was going kira loved to win but she got lost pretty easy even when she knew were she was going.

Snow glanced one last time at Melody as they prepared to run, making sure she was alright. He smiled at her and winked in approval of the wings, then looked ahead again, just in time to see Kira and Kayne take off. Oh, so it was a competition now. No way he was going to be shown up again. He coiled his muscles and then was suddenly gone, the leaves and dirt spraying up in a small explosion from where he'd pushed off. He ran full tilt, but still was behind the other two. He growled, wanting badly to be able to catch up, but wondering how. Suddenly something flashed into his mind, a word of sorts, he wasn't sure exactly. Nevertheless, he was willing to try anything, and so he spoke aloud the word. "Accelero!" He spoke firmly, and three symbols appeared faintly beneath his feet for a brief second. His feet felt lighter, his pace quickened, and a grin crossed his face as he caught up to the other two, but it wasn't enough to pass them, just to fall into third place.

The moment Snow took off, Vlad was astounded. Such speed from someone who'd had no knowledge of what he was until now. And that Kira girl, she wasn't slow at all either. Vlad dissolved into smoke, falling in pace with Kayne as a speeding cloud of darkness. Cheating? Maybe a little, but he wasn't racing anyway, and he wanted to see the action from the front of the pack. To his amazement, Snow was able to use a spell, meaning he must have magician in him as well. All of the three seemed to be more powerful than they'd imagined, but Snow worried him. Deamon blood was volatile as it is, and with the contrast of angel and the power boost of the magician, if he ever got out of control, or worse... into Patra's hands... all hell could break lose, no pun intended.

Kayne saw that Kira had fallen behind him on purpose and he smirked. He turned his eyes to his left and saw Vlad materialize beside him. The hybrid gave the vampire a glance and indicated the other two behind him. "They're powerful alright. We'll have to find out what kind of hybrids they are if we are to better help them.", Kayne said as in the corner of his eye he saw a white spot and realized Snow had been able to catch up as well.

Kira glanced behind her while she ran and saw Snow. Dang, she knew he was fast, but never this fast. He muttered something and she saw him get even faster. Was that a spell? Was Snow a magician now? Like Raghnall? That's a big surprised. Soon though she saw Kayne stop at the edge of the woods and she slowed to a stop to prevent ramming into the other hybrid's back. Landing lightly on her feet Kira stood up and watched Kayne for their next move.

Kayne was waiting for all the others to catch up, before they would cross the street like civlized people. In his head he thought a message to his servant. "Jezabeth, tell Emma we have guests over.", he thought to his demon hound. Jez gave a grunt of reply and soon Kain saw Emma waving from the front door.

Godric, Morty, and Raghnall reached the group and stopped. Godric turned his head slightly to look at the girl. "How you doing kid? Hanging in there?", the werewolf asked her with a smile. Morty looked down at his leg and saw that Rodney had hitched a ride. The ghoul didn't seem to mind though.

Once Kayne saw that everyone was accounted for, he began walking out of the woods and towards Emma's place. There weren't many people on the streets, but it still would be weird if a bunch of fast moving blurs suddenly zipped across the place. Kira fell in a step behind Kayne and followed after him, keeping her eyes on his back, which she realized was very slim but muscular. The leader wasn't a pushover, but she liked a challenge. She hoped he would be her mentor so she could test her powers on him.

Emma smiled at Kayne and held the door open for him and the large group. "Welcome back guys. And I see your expedition was successful. That's great news.", the fairie said as she smiled at everyone that came in. Kira bowed her head to the lady and muttered a "thanks" before entering further into the house. Immediately she sensed a presense and Jezabeth materialized into the room. "Master.", the demon said in greeting to Kayne. Kayne nodded his head at his servant. "Scout the area. Make sure Patra's lacky's aren't near here, and if they are, dispose of them.", he said.

Jezabeth nodded his head, not bothering to speak since he only spoke in lies. In a poof he was gone. Kayne waved a hand at the sofas, chairs and counches, beckoning everyone to sit. He himself chose a single armchair and sat like a king. Kira, being courteous, stood behind a long couch, waiting for everyone to sit before she did. Kayne gave her an appraising glance before looking away, waiting for everyone to get seated before he started to speak.

Emma rushed off to make some snacks and tea for everyone. "Raghnall, please set a barrier around Emma's house. We wouldn't want anyone to overhear us.", Kayne said. Raghnall nodded his head. A staff appeared in his hand and he set about chanting a spell that would prevent anyone from detecting Diabolians in this house and overhearing them.

Melody looked about watching all the others before slowly inching towards then holding onto Kira watching Her fear and excitment mixing with her power was created a very strong Safety bubble around the house she had no idea what she was doing but she couldn't control it either she looked up at her friends a moment then looked abck at the creatures before her she was still afraid and excited but she was beginning to calm down.

Rune watched the young girl for a long moment before looking towards Kayne giving him a look that says this one well easily obey orders but controling ehr powers well take a lot of work from her Rune smiled kindly to Melody to reassure her she was fine but she soon straightened her back and waited paitently for their food.

Snow was hardly paying attention, and almost didn't stop, but as soon as he saw that Kayne had halted, he panicked. Unsure how to stop, he fell into a slide, using his hand for support, his feet gouging the earth and living a trail as he skidded. He finally ground to a halt just beside Kira, standing and brushing himself off, glancing at the huge gouges in the earth behind him. "I'd say I'll need some practice on that." Vlad materialized next to him, grinning. "I'll say. A stop like that is novice work." Snow growled. "Hey! Don't criticize. Until five minutes ago I was just human."

Vlad shrugged and continued after Kayne, breaking off the argument with Snow. H-hey! Wait up! The hybrid called, catching up to the others and falling in step. They entered the house and Vlad took a seat on the couch near Kayne's chair. Snow followed Kira and stood beside her, watching to make sure Melody made it alright. He smiled as she inched over and latched herself onto Kira and, satisfied with her condition, looked around at the motley crowd, curious what would happen next.

Kayne glanced over at Kira and this time saw all three young hybrids standing beind the couch. The hybrid lord scowled. With a snap of his fingers he formed another chair out of basically particles of matter that appeared next to his arm chair. After viewing his work, which was quite a nice looking chair, he turned his eyes to the three. "Sit, you make some unintended shifts when you stand.", he told them.

Kira glared at him, but complied, guiding Melody over to the couch next to Kayne. Kira took the spot on the couch closest to Kayne and Melody was next to her, that left Snow to sit at the end and have Melody in between them. Kayne then grunted his approval as he straightened in his chair.

"So, we've succeeded in our mission to find you three. I'll summarize a history for you. You three are hybrids and as hybrids you possess great power, power greater than full blooded Diabolians. I am a hybrid myself, making me one of the strongest Diabolians. Patra is out to find you to try and get you onto her side of world domination, the human world, Eden, and our world, Diabola. But that aside. Since we've found you, it's is now our job to help you hone your skills so that you can defend yourselves against Patra, and fight her. For that we need to know what mixture of hybrids you are.", he told them.

The hybrid king looked around at the other assembled Diabolians. "Any guesses on what they are?", he asked them. Raghnall nodded to Kira and Snow. "I sense magician's power flowing through them.", he said. Morty glanced at Melody. "She's part human, I can tell.", the ghoul said.

Then Rodney piped up. "Kira I believe is a were-panther. Though it might be a good idea if you could substantiate that.", the ghost said. Kayne nodded his head. Godric nodded his head as he assessed Kira. "Now that the ghost's mentioned it, she does have the scent of a were on her. But Kayne since you're a hybrid, you should know the best out of all of us.", the werewolf said.

Kayne was quiet as he looked towards Vlad and Rune for their input.

Snow shrugged and sat down in the open seat next to Melody. He glanced around at the people surrounding them, feeling slightly uncomfortable with their piercing stares. He scooted in closer to his friends, trying to feel more comfortable in the circle of strangers.

"I sense magician's power flowing through them."

Snow looked slightly surprised as Raghnall indicated him. He looked down at his hands. It did make sense, after all whatever he had done when they were running seemed somewhat magical. He looked over at Kira to see her reaction.

Vlad regarded Snow for a moment with a piercing stare, catching a glimpse of the boy's eyes when he looked up. "I'd say there's some Deamon in him... definitely. The power of his aura is overflowing... but he seems to have conflicting sides to him... I'm not sure what the other is"

Melody sat beside Kira and bit her lower lip thinking to herself and still trying to figure it all out. Although she knew there was a tiny something different she would have never guessed that it had this much attached to it. She glanced from person to the other nervously biting on her lip and sinking lower and lower in between her two friends. She just kept looking at the people before her without a word to say.

Rune stared at Melody for a long while before switching her gaze to Kira staring at her analyzing her then sighing pressing her lips into a thin hard line realizing right away that this one would be a lot of trouble to deal with. Next she turned to Snow he would be hard to handle not because of his personality but because of his lack of control over his powers. Over all they would all be extremely hard to train.

Belphegor turned to Vlad. "Perhaps a Fallen? Angel demon mix?" he voiced to the vampire. The hybrid master stared and scrutinized the three younger hybrids before him, assessing their strengths and weaknesses, trying to pinpoint their species.

Godric, Morty, Raghnall, and others stared at their leader while he thought. Finally Bel let out a sigh and leaned forward, placing his elbows on his thighs and placing his chin on his hands. "Right, I think I've got it. Kira is a were-panther/demon/ magician. Snow is a Fallen, part angel part demon with some magician. Melody is part human and then part fairy," he concluded as he turned to see the reactions of his fellow Diabolians.

Godric grimaced as he heard what Belphegor said. Damn, those three mites were composed of the best of the best. Especially Snow and Kira, they could really do damage if running amok. Melody was a bit mellower. Morty nodded as if the news didn't surprise him. Raghnall looked at both Snow and Kira and agreed that their had magician's blood in them.

Belphegor, satisfied at their reactions, turned back to the three hybrids. The only problem was, would they cooperate with them? Kira seemed to be the most trouble and following her closely was Snow. Those two were the most dangerous and would be the most trouble to deal with. "What's your say in this?" he asked them.

Kira returned Belphegor's look head on and digested what he had told them. She was a mix of a were-panther, a demon and a magician. That was quite a handful. She wondered whatever happened to her parents, and why they left her in Eden. But this news definitely explained her weird and odd quirks. Her fancy for fish, extraordinary strength, keen senses, flexibility, and strange powers. "It explains a lot actually. My whole life was wrapped up nicely by your assessment," she answered him tersely and then turned to her two friends to see what they would say.

Snow stared at the floor for a while taking it all in. Angel... Deamon... Magician... it was a bit much for him. And why was he so mixed up... then again... it did seem to explain his life. All of those weird things that seemed to happen... well they didn't seem weird at the time but, looking back. On top of that, it was the only way to explain what had just happened. But still, how was he just supposed to accept this all of a sudden?

Vlad watched the boy carefully. Angel... it made sense, the clash of powers within him. He would prove the hardest to handle and train... all of that power fighting within him, it would be like a war-zone. Snow didn't seem to be accepting it too well, and now that he knew of his powers, Vlad was worried if he might just explode and go into a rage from all of the stress of this new environment, but everything seemed to work out as Snow looked up. "I guess I really have no choice but to accept this... I mean... what else is there? If what you said isn't true then... well where else would I turn." He smiled slightly. "Besides, having powers rocks!"

melody was trying to comprehend what she was being told and was already strugglign to accept the frist part. this was to much for the first time ever Melody felt anger. She stood to her feet and began to shout. "Now you listen here! I have been told who I was and what I must do my entire life! Just a moment ago I was a normal human girl having lunch in a diner with her friends! Now I am being told I some creature fairy thing! Well damnit I am not willing to believe that Now I am leaving!"

Melody's own voice scared her by how loud it was. She herself had never ever heard her own voice higher then just above a whisper! She quickly grabbed her jacket shoving her arms into it then headed straight for the door.

Rune watched as the Melody yelled at everyone in the room then took off for the door she gently stood infront of the door looking at the girl. "please listen to me-" her voice was cut off as Melody reached out and meant to push her slightly but ended up pushing her so hard she flew back skidding of the ground just above the wall. Rune stood and dusted herself off rubbing the back of her head. "quiet strength this one has."

Melody's eyes were as wide as saucers by what her own hand had just done. Her mouth was hanging open. She was holding onto the door handle still. She didn't dare move even a centimeter. Her breaths were quick and shallow her heart racing and her mind going crazy.

After the little episode that Melody had, no one stood up. Well Godric did to help and make sure his wife was okay and then proceeded to stand by Rune's side. The others were still sitting. Kira actually looked at Melody sympathetically. Slowly the hybrid stood to face her friend. Belphegor watched her with interest gleaming in his blue eyes.

"Now you listen here! I have been told who I was and what I must do my entire life! Just a moment ago I was a normal human girl having lunch in a diner with her friends! Now I am being told I some creature fairy thing! Well damnit I am not willing to believe that Now I am leaving!"

Kira held up a hand so that no one else piped up and interrupted her. She turned to Snow and gave him a nod to say that he could help in explaining if he wanted to. It seemed that only herself and Snow accepted the fact that they were different. She wanted Mel to accept to, but knew that forcing her wouldn't be the best approach.

Actually now that she thought about it, she turned to Belphegor immediately, her eyes widened a bit as she realized something. The hybrid leader returned her look with a calm and patient gaze, chin on his folded hands as he awaited any question from her.

"If Melody is a Diabolian, then who the heck are her "parents"?" she asked him.

Belphegor leaned back into the armchair and got comfortable, crossing his one long leg over the other and staring back at Kira. "Good question. Those two are false parents. Well one is anyway. Melody's mother is her true mother, but her father isn't. Her mother remarried after she found out about Mel but never said anything. I've had somebody watching the house for a while and it seems her mother has tried very hard to forget the fact that Melody isn't entirely human. If you wish to confirm it, shall we pay a visit?" he asked them.

Kira stared at the white haired hybrid who had a stoic expression on his face right now. Hers was one of mortification as well as shock. Melody's own mother didn't tell Mel the truth?!?!

Then Morty spoke up, his directed right at Melody. "If you are the human you say you are...then what are those protruding from your back? I daresay I've never seem a normal human with fairy wings before right?" he said and everyone's eyes in the room locked on Mel. The ghoul had a really good point there.

Snow chimed in just as things were getting dangerous. "Hold on here, I'm sorry if I'm out of line but everyone doesn't seem to be getting the situation here. After that outburst do you really thing Melody is in any state to recieve more shocks like that?" He stood and walked over to where Melody was standing, looking her in the eyes with a calming, warm gaze. "Are you alright Mel? I understand how you feel, your whole world being uprooted like that and replaced but..." he sighed, "what will anger change really? The only thing we can do is learn to accept it. You don't need to accept it immediately, but don't reject it until you've thought about it a bit either." He smiled warmly at her, something he didn't normally do, and hugged her comfortingly.
